How To Watch The Penguin Series

Episode 4: “Cent'anni”

This episode is a prelude to the events of episode 1. Technically, speaking this is the first episode because it establishes all of the main players and we take a look at everyone's backstory. Sure the last moments of the episode lead up into episode 5. However, the majority of this episode is a flashback of Sofia Falcone and her time spent in Arkham Asylum and how she got dubbed, “The Hangman".

Episode 1: “After Hours”

Now this episode takes place right after the events of, The Batman and Gotham is still struggling to recover from the flood caused by The Riddler. Sofia Falcone is just recently released from Arkham Asylum so I can only assume that after she is released she vows vengeance on Penguin and anyone that crossed her just like we saw in the ending of episode 4.

Episode 2: “Inside Man”

Inside Man is a fall out from the pilot episode of this series. Sofia is still trying to recover from her reputation being damaged and everyone being terrified of her so called, “reputation” that she built for herself. Also, Penguin is playing cat and mouse with Sofia in terms of who killed her brother and what's his end game.

Episode 3: “Bliss”

After Penguin sets up one of Sofia's men in episode 2, he is officially in business with Sofia Falcone. Yes, we may have a flashback sequence in the beginning of the episode with Victor and how he lost his family. But this whole episode is not a flashback episode and is instead focused on Victor and him choosing between his personal life and new life: being in a crime family.

This episode ends on a cliffhanger and we don’t really see a follow up at all until Episode 5. With Episode 4 being one of the best of the series it's completely understandable why they wanted to pump the breaks on a follow up to this episode.

Episode 5: “Homecoming”

After Vic, saved Oz's life in episode 3 and abandoned Sofia they have officially made her hit list. In the beginning of the episode it's clearly obvious this is after the events of Episode 3 considering Oz's car got destroyed. Plus, on top of that Sofia has officially decided to take charge and not take any shit anymore. Her ultimate goal: finally bring down The Penguin and end the family War between the Falcone's and the Maronis.

Another way this let's me know this takes place after the events of Episode 3 is because of the remaining, “Bliss" that Oz steals from the Maronis. Now in episode three it was established that Oz was looking to take over the Bliss business for himself.
