Superman Fanboy Pitches, 'Superman: The Man Of Tomorrow'

Synopsis

Clark Kent/Superman has everything that he wants in his life: Krypto, his fiancé Lois Lane, a great job, his mom and the support of the people of Metropolis. However, a new supergroup funded by Lex Luthor called, Intergang arrive on the scene catching everyone's attention. Are they truly here for the betterment of mankind or is it another scheme from Lex Luthor?

Supporting Characters

You can't have a Superman film without his phenomenal supporting characters. The lack of Jimmy Olsen (specifically Red Head Jimmy Olsen) has been missing from a lot of Superman media as of late. That's why I'm glad to see James Gunn Superman finally include Jimmy along with the rest of the Daily Planet employees. Everyone from Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, Cat Grant and Perry White all need to be included in this film to establish not only Clark and Lois as journalist but also to humanize Superman as well.

The Villain

When you begin a Superhero trilogy you don't want to start with the biggest villain from their rogues gallery. For example, if you're doing an Iron Man trilogy then I suggest not begin with The Mandarin. It's always best to start slow and build up to their more well known villains. So if I were in charge I would begin my Superman trilogy with Intergang as the villains. Their criminally underrated and besides the interesting Superman stories don’t always come from a villain bigger or stronger than him.

The Overall Story

For starters, yes Lex Luthor is in this film but not as the main antagonist. I would say that he's more of a foil to the main antagonist in my film and that's ‘Intergang’. Have Lex Luthor be the puppet master controlling Intergang from behind the scenes and Lois enlist Jimmy for help to find out what Lex is really up to. It's very important to focus on the journalism side of Lois and Jimmy and how Lois is very passionate about her work and she is just as caring about the people of Metropolis just as much as Clark Kent/Superman is. Have her and Jimmy conduct street interviews with the people of Metropolis and how the working class is effected by Lex Luthor.

With Intergang I would have them be portrayed as a ‘heroes for hire' type group. If there is any kind of crime committed rather it's grand theft auto, breaking and entering, or anything then the citizens of Metropolis have to pay a 3-4 digit fee to hire Intergang. Lex Luthor will only be doing this to push Superman out of the public eye so he's not needed anymore. Similar to Captain America: Civil War I would have this film be a commentary on if superheroes need to be under government rules while also tackling classicism as well.

The only people in Metropolis hiring Intergang is the upper class because they all agree with Lex that it's much safer for the city to be rescued by people in a controlled environment, while not having to worry about planes crashing and buildings exploding. This obviously causes problems for the middle/lower class citizens of Metropolis because they can’t afford Intergang but also they didn't need to pay for Superman's services because he's always there when they need him. During an hostage situation Bruno Mannheim loses it and kills the robber causing mayhem from the media who all blame Lex Luthor. Enraged because of the blood on his hands that Intergang caused Lex tries to undermine them but when Bruno and the rest of Intergang turn on him, he has to team with Superman to take down his creation.

Closing Summary

That is my pitch for, Superman: The Man Of Tomorrow. If they’re is anything that should be changed i’d love to hear some feedback. Overall, what are your thoughts? And if you have a general concept for a Superman film or what they should do differently then let me know.
